WOW my school, Transylvania University is the #1 Greek Life school according to the Princeton Review, just released today. Not only are we rocking in academics, we know how to have fun!!
Transylvania ( or Transy as we call it) is a very special school in Kentucky and has deep roots in our nation's history.
Transylvania University - Founded in 1780; sixteenth college in the U.S.; first west of the Allegheny Mountains. Transylvania is linked with many famous names in American history. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Aaron Burr were early supporters. Henry Clay was a law professor and a member of Transylvania's board of trustees. Among other distinguished alumni are founder and hero of Texas, Stephen Austin, famed abolitionist Cassius M. Clay, U.S. vice presidents John C. Breckinridge and Richard M. Johnson, Supreme Court justice John Marshall Harlan, 50 U.S. senators, 101 U.S. representatives, 36 governors, and 34 ambassadors.
Today, Transy is a well respected liberal arts school and is "successful in fulfilling its contemporary mission of offering a high quality liberal arts education marked by personal attention to students and a faculty dedicated to excellence in teaching." I had a wonderful experience at Transy. In fact, after graduation, I worked in the University's Public Relations office, doing everything from writing thousands of press releases, to brand development, meeting alumni, mentoring students and building strong relations & strengthening our ties within the community. Great place! And if you are thinking of great college, think Transylvania University!
